Wits Health Consortium: Call Centre Agents

Main purpose of the job: To perform telephonic data collection tasks from households in the Gauteng Research Triangle (GRT-Inspired, including Hillbrow, Melusi and Atteridgeville West.)

Duration: 12 months Contract

Location: Wits School of Public Health, Johannesburg

Responsibilities:

• Administer the questionnaire telephonically and simultaneously enter information into the relevant database.
• Ensure daily telephonic data collection targets are met.
• Identify and escalate priority issues.
• Route calls to appropriate resource.
• Document all call information according to standard operating procedures.
• Participate in regular and ad hoc training and meetings for data collection.
• Educate research participants on GRT Inspired research activities.  
• Conduct any other duties assigned by the line manager

Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate

Experience:

• Minimum 1-year experience as fieldworker or call centre agent.

Skills and Competencies:

• Fieldwork or call centre work experience will be an advantage.
• Good voice projection.
• Good data capturing and typing skills.
• Empathy with the respondent is vital.
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team
