Gauteng Department of Infrastructure: Work Experience Opportunities 2025

The Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development through it's Expanded Public Works Programme is recruiting 2500 unemployed youth participants in Gauteng Province for the 2025-27 financial years to be placed in the National Youth Service Programme (NYS).

Successful candidates will receive a stipend of R3 500 per month over a fixed period of 24 months. Contracts will not be extended beyond the 24-month fixed period

Requirements:

• Youth between 18 to 33 years (participants must be below the age of 35 for the duration of the two-year contract)
• Should have passed Grade 11 or above (Must hold the relevant qualifications where applicable e.g.Technical Trades and Administration positions)
• Should have a valid South African Identity Document
• Should be available for the duration of the programme and be prepared to sign a contract
• This programme is recruiting youth who reside in the 5 corridors (regions)

1. City of Johannesburg
2. City of Tshwane
3. City of Ekurhuleni
4. Sedibeng District
5. West Rand District

• Applicants must reside close to the project site for accessibility and convenience
• Candidates must not have a criminal record
• Candidate who have previously participated in the NYS Programme will not be considered
