RCL FOODS is recruiting for an Intern for Packaging, to join our dynamic Research and Development Team, on a fixed term contract basis.

As the Intern - Packaging, You will be responsible for providing admin support to the Research and Development Packaging Technologist and the Research and Development Manager, as well as to deliver on the key projects within the Grocery business unit, including Pet food category. The position will be based at our Grocery plant in Randfontein.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting the R&D Operations Manager with all tasks related to projects which include but are not limited to:

1. standardisation of specifications,
2. value engineering program,
3. creation of buying specs for Sourcing,
4. Ad hoc projects

• Supporting with R&D Budgets,
• Processing of invoices 
• Overall assistance to the R&D Manager as and when required

Requirements:

Tertiary qualification in one of the following fields:

• Packaging Diploma
• BSc Physical Science or Chemistry or Physics
• Food Technology
• BSc Material Sciences

Skills and Competencies:

• Experience working on MS Office (including Excel and PowerPoint)
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast- paced environment
• Working knowledge of all MS programs
• Well organized and disciplined
• Self-manage tight deadlines, proactive and with a drive.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
