The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) is offering Internship opportunities to suitably qualified and unemployed graduates. The Interships will run for a a period NOT exceeding eighteen (18) months.
Interns will be required to sign an internship agreement, in additional to an employment contract, committing themselves to full participation in the educational and workplace assignments in accordance with laid-down policies and procedures.
Stipend: 9 960,45 pm (Basic Salary, no benefits)
Duration: 18 months contract

Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Administration / Public Administration / Business Management.
Duties: Provide effective and comprehensive administrative support and logistical services to the office to ensure the efficiency of business Unit. Coordinate administrative requirements associated with the office functionality. Arrange internal and external meetings by booking the venues and ensuring that all necessary logistics are in place. Recording and compiling minutes of the meetings and track progress/ follow up in decision taken during meetings. Co-ordination of record system. Maintain a well-structured records classification system for easy retrieval of information

Department: Group Finance Department
Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Finance / Accounting or related Field
Duties: Monitor procurement of assets of various regions by ensuring that there is a transparent system of procuring goods and service in line with Council procurement procedures. Compile maintain, reconcile and verify the accuracy of computerized assets register as per Assets management control procedures. All new assets procured need to follow a capitalization process whereby they are captured and updated in the SAP assets register. Assist in ensuring the effective management of accounts and processes of the department. Review and monitor that the City of Joburg’s control policies and procedures are adhered to. To ensure that Group Finance assets claims are properly submitted and managed. Enduring that goods and /service are procured in accordance with a system that is fair, equitable, transparent, competitive and cost effective. Reduce the risk that the department may be exposed to through ineffective internal controls. Coordinate special project for Group Finance department. Manage the human resource and administration personnel of sub directorate to deliver comprehensive HR and Admin services. Provide and keep accurate records within and keep Information for the department and to have standardized work procedures;

Duties: To support the project management, implementation and contract administration of spatial projects. Support the tracking of targets for spatial projects to ensure delivery of results, in accordance with the signed agreement and agreed work plans. Coordinate engagements with projects partners. To be the custodian of data and material relating to the project and project performance. Perform administrative duties relating to the project management, implementation and contract administration. Duties: The purpose of the Job is for the Intern to be an Administrator of Town Planning Application System (TAS) and other related IT Systems. TAS is an integrated system within Development Planning and is integrated with other Departments and Municipal Owned Entities (MOES) within the City of Johannesburg. The Intern’s main duties will be to manage Users, System Issues and System Enhancements of TAS. Manage large Datasets, perform Data Analysis and produce Reports and write Technical Documents. In addition, the Job will also enable Land Use Development Management (LUDM) Directorate to provide Knowledge and Skills Transfer to the Successful Intern.
