About the Internship Programme

INSETA is offering internship opportunities to unemployed South African graduates to help them gain practical workplace experience within the insurance and broader financial services sector. The programme is designed to support skills development, improve employability, and provide graduates with hands-on exposure, mentorship, and industry-relevant training as they prepare for future careers.

 


Available Internships

The following Internship Opportunites are open for Applications:

 

Finance Intern

Overview: To support and equip graduates with practical work experience through exposure to work areas within the INSETA Finance Department.

Duties: Perform administration support related to finance department for. Creditors, Debtors, cashbook, project and job costing. Finance records management. General Finance administration. Capital and operational budget administration. Liability administration. Implementation of financial management reforms in line with the PFMA. Support all the general administration of the division. Receive invoices and prepare payments for projects activities. Preparation of reconciliations. Capturing and updating data. Update of invoice tracker on regular basis.

Requirements: National Diploma  or Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification


Human Resources Intern

Overview: To provide HR administrative support to the Unit co-ordination of administrative HR tasks including  maintaining and processing employee records, administration within the  HR value chain and  ensure data integrity of employee information is continuous updated and accurate.

Duties: Provide support in recruitment, selection and placement function (advertising, applications screening, scheduling interviews, preparation of recruitment packs, conducting pre-employment screening and onboarding). HR Administration - Maintain and update employee records, filing, document control, and record management. Administration support for employee induction and off-boarding process. Provide  training and skills development support (including payment of invoices, coordinating training sessions and workshops, maintaining training records). Assist in maintaining an effective filing system within the HRM unit. Provide general administrative support Develop and maintain a filing system. Keep information in own area of work confidential. Receive and send correspondence. Support internal HR projects (e.g., performance management and wellness programs). Support recruitment and selection administration, including interview scheduling and documentation

Requirements: National Diploma  or Degree in Human Resource Management / Industrial Psychology / Training and Development / Labour Relations / Employee Relations.


Risk Management Intern

Overview: To  provide administrative support to the Risk Management Unit  through the application of risk and compliance management and fraud prevention framework, policies and procedures.

Duties: Assist in reviewing the divisional policies and procedures. Assist in conducting risk assessments and updating the risk registers (Operational, Fraud, Project and Compliance Risk Registers).. Assist in the planning and monitoring of risk mitigation strategies and obtaining evidence of activities. Liaise with the appropriate stakeholders and role players in the various Units when  conducting risk assessments and updating the risk registers. Assist in ensuring understanding of the risks, emerging risks, processes and controls, to enable pro-active risk management. Conduct research on emerging risks as well as various applicable compliance requirements. Assist in improving the maturity of risk and compliance management. Conduct risk, compliance and fraud awareness campaigns. Provide general support and assistance to the Risk Management Division

Requirements: National Diploma  or Degree in Risk Management / Insurance and Risk Management / Compliance Management / Risk and Compliance.
