Internship Overview

The Democratic Alliance (DA) is offering a Parliamentary Research Internship (Legal) for graduates interested in legal and legislative research. The intern will assist the Parliamentary Research team with research requests, provide insights on parliamentary activities, identify strategic issues, and perform general support duties within the Parliamentary Research Unit.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Assisting the Parliamentary Research team with general and legislative research requests, proactively identify strategic issues, and identify new angles with a view of driving them in the media
• Supporting the Parliamentary Research team with research and insight relating to Parliamentary activities
• Performing general support functions to the Parliamentary Research Unit

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law
• Legal research experience in an academic/professional setting
• Experience in a quality assurance or data auditing role (advantageous)
• Computer literacy, particularly MS Office Suite and Zoom
