Rent a Room offers student and intern accommodation in Cape Town, South Africa. Rent a Room has a selection of furnished rooms in shared houses for students, interns and backpackers visiting Cape Town.  We have rooms available in Gardens, Observatory and Rosebank, giving you a choice of where to stay in Cape Town.

Room Types:

• Category A- rooms are our larger rooms, or en suite rooms. 
• Category B-  rooms are our standard size budget room typically with a single or 3/4 size bed
• Category C- rooms are ultra compact and have a single bed.

All houses and rooms are fully furnished with the following: 

Bookshelf, Desk, Chair, Bed base, Mattress, Duvet, Duvet Cover, Pillow, Pillow Case, Fitted Sheet, Bedside Table, Mirror, Wardrobe, Desk Lamp, Curtain or Blind, House Key, Room Key, Room Clean and tidy, Linen Washed and bed made, 2 pin adaptor, and a Dustbin.

Accommodations in Observatory:

Paragon: 3 Bed, 3 A+ rooms in a brand new block in the heart of Obs.

12 Ivy St: 6 Bed, 2 Bath. The Ivy street house is a one-story house located in close proximity to the Observatory Station. A modern style flat, Ivy street is a short walk from downtown Observatory and provides a comfortable stay.

197 Lower Main: 17 Bed, 4 Bath. 197 Lower Main is a large two story house located directly downtown in Observatory. With a spacious kitchen, living room, pool table, and porch, 197 provides every resident with an array of amenities as well as a fun atmosphere.

3 Florence Rd: 8 Bed, 4 Bath. Florence Rd is a large one-story house located a short walk from downtown Observatory. Residents will find a spacious house with all the desired amenities, in a great neighborhood of Observatory.

49 Milton Rd: 10 Bed, 3 Bath. The Milton house is a large, one-story house located a few blocks away from central Obz. It is one of our larger houses, and comes with a front porch area that is the site of many barbeques.

91 Station Road: 6 Bed, 2 Bath. 6 large rooms in central Obs.

59 Lower Main: 3 Bed, 3 Bath (all en-suite). 3 bedroom house, all en-suite. Former backpackers now a comfortable house.

73 Arnold St: 8 Bed, 2 Bath. 73 Arnold house is a great house to enjoy your stay in Cape Town. Located just a few blocks from downtown Observatory, 73 Arnold offers both a convenient location and a quaint, comfortable stay. 

8 Disa Ave: 6 Bed, 2 Bath. The Disa house is one of our mid-size properties that we offer. It is a modern, one story property located conveniently close to the Observatory station as well as to the other amenities in Observatory.

317 Lower Main Road: 7 Bed, 3 Bath. 2018 renovation, large rooms in downtown Obs. 

89 Station Rd: 12 Bed, 2 1/2 Bath. The Station Road property is an old Victorian house with wooden floors and lots of history. It is conveniently located in downtown Observatory by the Observatory Station. It is large, homely residence that promises to provide a fun and social experience while you are Cape Town.

Loft F1: 10 Bed, 3 Bath. Loft F1 is a modern apartment located just a short walk away from downtown Observatory. Boasting a large, fully furnished dining room and kitchen, this apartment is a spacious and welcoming option for any  Cape Town-bound individual.

Loft L7: 7 Bed, 2 Bath. Loft L7 is a spacious, modern apartment two blocks from downtown Observatory. The loft offers residents a large, two story living space furnished with a contemporary kitchen and dining room, a lounge with a TV, and a washing room.

Accommodations in Mowbray/Rosebank:

98 Strubens: 6 Bed, 1 Bath. 98 Strubens house is a one-story property with a contemporary feel, located just a few blocks from downtown Observatory. It sits in a quiet neighborhood away from downtown and also has an attractive porch including a pool in the backyard that is perfect for braais, drinks, socializing and the hot south african summer!

21/23 Church Street: 19 Bed, 5 Bath. Student house, close to UCT. Located in Rosebank it's our best chocie for anyone attending UCT.

Accommodations in Gardens:

Zonnebloem: 3 Bed, 1 Bath. Zonnebloem is a house, located slightly further away from the others. The property has is located in a small community called Zonnebloem. Zonnebloem is a small 3 bedroom house with a brandnew shower.

17 Scott Rd: 15 Bed, 3 Bath, 2 Flats. 17 Scott is a beautiful loft-style house located in the exciting and energetic centre of Cape Town, near to all the restaurants, nightlife, and transport options available within the central business district (CBD). Scott Street is approximately a 10 minute drive to downtown Observatory, but is served by multiple bus lines, taxis, and the central train station, a 10 minute walk away. It is a two-story house that also boasts a screened-in porch and a backyard.

Skyways: 3 Bed, 2 Bath (1 en-suite). The skyways house is conveniently located near the down town area of Cape Town. The house has access to a large shared private pool and garden.
