South African National Blood Service (SANBS): General Laboratory Assistant

An opportunity has become available for a General Laboratory Assistant: Inventory and Processing. The incumbent will be responsible for the preparation, delivery and collection of blood bank hampers, routine bio-hazardous waste disposal and cleaning duties according to relevant SOP’s.

Key Performance Areas:

• Blood hamper preparation, collection, packing received stock and stock count objectives
• Waste disposal objectives
• Daily Laboratory Duty objectives
• SHEQ Compliance objectives
• General function objectives

Requirements:

• Grade 12 with Maths and 1 Science subject
• Overtime as and when required
• Shift work and weekend duties as required
• General physical health and reasonable endurance and mobility
• Proficient eye-sight
