Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) established under South Africa’s Skills Development Act to support skills development within the construction and built environment sector. CETA focuses on improving the quality and relevance of education and training in areas such as construction, civil engineering, electrical infrastructure, plumbing, and related trades.
The organisation facilitates and funds learnerships, internships, apprenticeships, bursaries, and skills programmes aimed at addressing skills shortages, improving employability, and supporting transformation in the construction industry. By working closely with employers, training providers, and government, CETA plays a key role in developing a skilled workforce that contributes to sustainable infrastructure development and economic growth in South Africa.
Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) invites eligible students to apply for the Thapelo Madibeng Bursary Scheme for the 2026 academic year.
Bursaries will be awarded for studies within the built environment, at undergraduate and postgraduate level (including Masters and PhD), which may include but are not limited to:
The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, accommodation and meals. The bursary may also cover transport fees (with conditions). Masters and PhD students will also receive a research allowance.
